Job duties of Technology Chair

The primary function of the position is to maintain the affiliates website. Maintaining current and accurate information requires attending board meetings, interacting with the board members and committee chairs, attending monthly educational meetings and posting all of the activities that have taken place or are planned by the affiliate as well as many of the activities of ISM.

NAPM Central Texas' website is used by the affiliate as the "newsletter". This approach was contemplated several years ago as a way to cut printing and mailing costs, as well as being able to make changes to the website (newsletter) at any given moment. Members can then be notified via e-mail of any changes/additions and they can drop in and read the "news" at their own pace and convenience.

The website is used as a sales tool to promote Purchasing and Supply Chain occupations and educational offerings. The website has also become a convenient place to store some of the affiliates history, mission statement and scholarship information. As a valuable resource for the affiliate, the website must be constantly monitored and reviewed.
