Speaker: Jim Chester

 

For more than a decade, Jim Chester has advised Fortune 500 Companies, start-ups, and mid- sized companies in a variety of industries regarding formation and transactions, intellectual property protection & licensing, and international business & trade legal matters.  He also coordinates with foreign counsel on legal projects around world on behalf of U.S. clients, and serves as legal advisor to foreign companies doing business with the U.S.

In addition to serving as managing attorney of Chester/Associates, Jim is an adjunct professor of law at Baylor University Law School, where he teaches courses in International Trade Law and International Business Transactions.  He also served for several years as an n adjunct professor at the University of Dallas College of Business.

A recognized expert in his field, Jim has been listed in the “Rising Star” edition of Texas Super Lawyers by his peers, an honor awarded to less than 5% of attorneys in the state.  He is a frequent speaker on various IP and International business and trade topics at both regional and international events.

He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with High Honors in Economics and Political Science from Texas A&M University at Commerce, and received his Juris Doctor from the South Texas College of Law.  Jim also earned a Master of Laws degree in International Economic Law from the University of Houston Law Center, and studied graduate tax law at Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law.
