Topic: Carol Cooper with NAPM-Dallas speaking about Changes to the Organization "ISM"

CAROL COOPER, C.P.M., First Vice Chair of the South West Supply Chain Forum

Carol has been a member of NAPM-Dallas for 19 years and has served this organization in a variety of positions. She started as a committee member for Professional Development and increasingly took on more responsibility. Carol served in every elected position including President in 1998.

Carol served District II on various Ad Hoc committees during the National governance study analyzing its affect on District II and the District II affiliates. She has served as an officer of the NAPM Electronic Commerce Group.

Carol has been in the purchasing profession for twenty-four (24) years. She has both public and private sector experience in a variety of industries. Carol is currently the Director of Material Management for the City of Garland, Texas.

Carol led her purchasing team at the City of Garland to win the prestigious Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award for the past four years running. The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award is an International Award presented by the National Purchasing Institute (NPI), a sister organization of ISM. She is also current President of the Collin County Governmental Purchasers Forum, which is a co-op purchasing group for the governmental entities of Collin County Texas and serves on the Board of the North Central Texas Regional Certification Agency. Carol is President of the Texas Purchasing Managers Association, an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League.

Carol is an Oklahoma transplant with a Bachelor of General Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas and has her lifetime C.P.M. She is married to Charles Cooper and has a married daughter, Brandi, who is a teacher in Tyler, Texas.
