President Carl D. Youngberg incorporates his experience in high technology, retail, wholesale, insurance, education, manufacturing, and fashion. He built a successful business career in marketing and management before launching Concepts 3, Inc. His experience includes more than twenty-one years of people development, management, and merchant experience at Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.
In his work experience, he has been associated with some of the top executives in specialty retailing in the world. His career includes over 21+ years of executive experience at Neiman Marcus in Dallas and Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and around the country. As Director of Executive Development at SFA in New York, he was responsible for the development of executive level personnel for the Company. Expanded responsibilities at Neiman Marcus corporate included marketing, store manager duties and Fashion Marketing Director.
He left NM to join Flower Country USA, a venture capital start up based in Dallas. As Vice-President and General Manager, he led a multi-unit prototype operation. Though the concept did not eventually develop, today Carl counts the experiences as the time in which he could incorporate the experiences learned throughout his business career.
Because of the interest and the experience gathered in retail, business, and global marketing, Carl Youngberg is a frequent speaker for professional associations and for continuing education credit programs. He presents regularly at Southern Methodist University on human behavior and the work place. He has recently developed a highly successful series entitled "The Informal MBA - Real World Tools for handling Real World People".
Recently, Carl was asked to present at a conference that also hosted speakers Lady Margaret Thatcher and John Walsh. In addition, he was a concurrent speaker at the National Conference of MENSA and was a presenter of a change management seminar for the local chapter of The National Association of Manufacturers.
Based on his extensive experience in the work of customer service, he is now at work on his first book, drawing on the customer care knowledge he gathered at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and in his extensive consulting activities.
He has lived in Latin America where he taught and developed assessment strategies in the School of Medicine of the National University of Honduras. His graduate work was at the University of Missouri. His postgraduate training in international education was at the University of California at Los Angeles.
